Paro the Robo Seal

Finally, a baby seal you could take clubbing without getting in trouble with Greenpeace!

Paro is a robotic seal designed to brighten up the lives of the sick and socially isolated. Frequently used in assisted living facilities where live animals are not an option, this stuffed animal is full of high tech innards that help it respond to touch, sound, light, temperature, and movement.

It is getting mixed reviews but how can you resist a $4000 baby seal? Check out Inhabitots for more details, comments, and other merchandise designed for parents interested in sustainable modern design.

True. This should be waterproof! Maybe they will offer make a waterproof "skin" for it for an extra $1500.00!
