This Week in Robo Cats!

Finally, a cat that pays attention to you when you want it to rather than when it finds convenient. Sega introduces the Dream Cat Venus, perfect for the allergy-riddled cat lover in your life. This robo cat actually seems a bit boring. It is realistic enough to compare to a real cat but it will come in way short in the personality department.
I think I'd prefer the mechanical cheetah created by artist Andrew Chase. It supposedly moves like an actual cat. It looks like what the Terminator would keep as a pet. And it would be perfect to scare the crap out of that annoying dog next door that just won't stop barking. More pics and details at Gadget Lab.
Why is it that robotic dogs look cute and robotic cats look scary?
